Fungsi paru pada polisi lalu lintas di Kota Denpasar, Bali tahun 2023

Abstract

Background: Traffic police's job are regulate traffic flow on the highway. This job carries the risk of exposure to polutant which can distrupt lung function. Impaired lung function can cause various respiratory diseases, such as obstructive and restrictive. Lung function can be influenced by individual factors (age, nutritional status, and smoking habits), and characteristic factors (mask use, work period, and exercise habits). This study aims to determine the description of lung function disorders in traffic police in Denpasar City, Bali in 2023. regarding the relationship between allergic rhinitis with DTE and its management.

Methods: This study used a descriptive methode with a cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out once per respondent. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling.

Result: The results showed that the average age of the sample was 44.97 with the majority of the sample experiencing overnutrition (overweight and obesity) with 22 people (64.7%). Based on the habit of using masks, there is 29 people (85.3%) used medical masks when working. All police officers had less than 8 hours of work, the average number of years of police work was 22.54 and 17 people (50.0%) had never smoked. The results of the spirometry test were obtained by 8 people (23.5%) with normal results, 25 people (73.5%) with restrictive lung disorders and 1 person with obstructive lung disorders (2.9%). Based on the measurement results, the average FVC value (%) was (72.73 ± 13.73) and the average FEV1 value (%) was (78.92 ± 14.49). The mean FVC (L) value was (3.0374 ± 0.69) and the FEV1 (L) value was (2.7412 ± 0.65).

Conclusion: Based on this research, the lung function of traffic police in Denpasar City was found to be 8 people (23.5%) with normal results, most of the police were classified as having restrictive lung function disorders, namely 25 people (73.5%) and one person was classified as obstructive (2 .9%) and was not found in the combination category.

 

Latar belakang: Tugas polisi lalu lintas adalah mengatur arus lalu lintas di jalan raya. Pekerjaan ini berisiko terkena paparan polutan yang dapat mengganggu fungsi paru-paru. Gangguan fungsi paru dapat menyebabkan berbagai penyakit pernafasan, seperti obstruktif dan restriktif. Fungsi paru dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor individu (usia, status gizi, dan kebiasaan merokok), dan faktor karakteristik (penggunaan masker, masa kerja, dan kebiasaan berolahraga). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran gangguan fungsi paru pada polisi lalu lintas di Kota Denpasar Bali Tahun 2023.

Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan desain cross-sectional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan satu kali per responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah accidental sampling. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata usia sampel adalah 44,97 dengan mayoritas sampel mengalami gizi lebih (overweight dan obesitas) sebanyak 22 orang (64,7%). Berdasarkan kebiasaan menggunakan masker, terdapat 29 orang (85,3%) menggunakan masker medis saat bekerja. Seluruh anggota polisi memiliki jam kerja kurang dari 8 jam, rerata masa kerja polisi adalah 22,54 dan 17 orang (50,0%) tidak pernah merokok. Hasil pemeriksaan spirometri diperoleh 8 orang (23,5%) dengan hasil normal, 25 orang (73,5%) dengan kelainan paru restriktif dan 1 orang dengan kelainan paru obstruktif (2,9%). Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran, rerata nilai FVC (%) adalah (72,73 ± 13,73) dan rerata nilai FEV1 (%) adalah (78,92 ± 14,49). Nilai rerata FVC (L) sebesar (3,0374 ± 0,69) dan nilai rerata FEV1 (L) sebesar (2,7412 ± 0,65).

Simpulan: Fungsi paru polisi lalu lintas di Kota Denpasar berdasarkan penelitian ini didapatkan 8 orang (23,5%) dengan hasil normal, sebagian besar polisi tergolong memiliki gangguan fungsi paru restriktif yaitu 25 orang (73,5%) dan satu orang tergolong dalam obstruktif (2,9%) serta tidak ditemukan dengan kategori kombinasi.
